What is neuropsychology?

 

 

Clinical neuropsychology evaluates the effects of injury or diseases of the brain on behaviour, thinking and emotion and provides intervention to improve problems with daily functioning. A neuropsychologist specialises in how brain conditions effect behaviour, emotions, and how you think or use your brain (cognition), which includes skills like:

  • Memory and learning
  • Reasoning and problem solving
  • Attention and concentration
  • Speed of information processing
  • Language
  • Organising and planning
  • Visual-spatial abilities
