Paul is an English-trained clinical neuropsychologist, having received his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2004 and his Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Neuropsychology in 2010. Paul’s background is working in NHS services for people with disabilities, where he developed a strong interest in the concept of ‘mental capacity’ and human rights.

Since moving to New Zealand in 2012, Paul has worked as a clinician and service leader
in both ACC and DHB-funded services. Currently, Paul works for the University of Otago Psychological Medicine department in Wellington, leading the development of their upcoming neuropsychology training programme. Paul is also a Strategic Advisor to the New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists, where he has authored several recent submissions to the Ministry of Health, the Court of Appeal and the Human Rights Commission on aspects of capacity law and human rights.
